雖說成為時尚界出人頭地的設計師，需要百分之百的才華以及百分之兩百的運氣，但針對懷抱著設計師夢想的人來說，選擇一家優秀的服裝學校，至少對於開發個人創意潛能有極大幫助，甚至對未來的實習工作或就業也較具優勢。剛由FASHIONISTA.com公布的2014年「全球50大服裝學院排行榜」，第1名毫無意外由倫敦Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design（中央聖馬丁藝術與設計學院）奪魁。

Central Saint Martins堪稱是大師製造機，包括John Galliano、Phoebe Philo、Stella McCartney、Riccardo Tisci、Mary Katrantzou、Matthew Williamson、Sarah Burton、Christopher Kane，還有已逝的Alexander McQueen等人，皆是Central Saint Martins傑出校友。另外像是台灣旅英設計師陳劭彥、CC Kuo，還有剛創立個人同名品牌的華裔設計師Daniel Wong，也同樣畢業自該校。

FASHIONISTA.com 公布的2014年「全球50大服裝學院排行榜」，其排名根據是考量學校課程、環境、費用、就業助力，以及學校本身在產業的影響力，還有在學學生或畢業學生的評論等各方面條件而做出評選，主要是期盼能夠為準備投入時尚產業的熱血青年，提供就學參考依據。

然而由單一媒體評選出的學校排行版，其公正性與公平性有待各方檢視。舉例來說，法國人極度自豪的巴黎服裝學院、孕育高級訂製服人才的Ecole de la chambre syndicale de la couture，連前10名都擠不進去，僅排行第12名，這要是請出時尚圈法國佬來申論，恐怕咒罵個3天3夜都氣憤難平。（薛佳甯／台北報導）
